Cross-posted were it's relevant ,sorry

Does someone can explain to me what is this:

I think it's the olllld americain series, but why the entire "cast" is japanese? Why Aonuma's name is it there? Why is it written 2003 ?

Also, does someone know a reliable website were I could buy that wonderful 1986-2007 Zelda book?

Thank you ^^

( Use a faerie? | 3 used a faerie.)

Okay, so, November 21st (23rd for Americans) this year is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time's 10th Anniversary.

10 years ago, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time broke records, topped sales charts, wowed critics, and of course--amazed the fans, and fans-to-be. While some of us (myself included) had played the Zelda games since long before then, for many Zelda fans, this was the first game they played, and for many others, this still stands as their favorite Zelda game.

I feel, and I'm sure many will agree with me, that if it were not for this game, the Zelda fandom would not be what it is today.

So, in order to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, I have a proposition for my fellow Zelda fan artists.

The rules do not deviate from the popular sketch-a-day practice:

  • Every participant uploads a single fan art--be it something as simple as a quick sketch or completed piece--every day in November.
  • There is no rules on which character it is, as long as the character is present in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
  • Original characters and crossovers are allowed, as long as it does not deviate too far from the goal of doing a Zelda tribute (this includes original interpretations of the existing characters).
  • Anyone can participate. It doesn't matter your skill level, or how long you've liked the game, or even if, 10 years later, you still haven't beaten the game (some people, believe it or not, haven't). The point is: you're a fan, and that's what matters.
  • If you cannot/feel you cannot participate every day in November, you are still more than welcome to participate. However, it'd be wonderful if all participants can make sure something is uploaded November 21st (or 23rd, whichever release date they prefer).
  • I chose November because it held the majority of the release dates, however, if my friends in Europe would like to wait till December to do this--I'd still like you on the list.

There are no prizes, no contests, or any sort of competition. However, there will be a list that I will keep updated (and if enough people enjoy the idea, a LiveJournal community), especially if I am not watching you on DeviantART (if you have one) already, comment and let me know that you want to participate.

Good luck everyone, I hope you like this idea of mine :3

Zelda fandom help [21 Apr 2008|09:10am]

At Fan History, we're trying to put together the most comprehensive history of video game fandom and the Zelda fandom on the Internet. If you're familiar with the fandom, any help in improving the article or general video game section would be very much appreciated. :)

We're also trying to put together a comprehensive directory of Zelda fans. There are currently articles about 1,406 fans. It would be really nice if some one could edit and improve existing articles, and add new ones about any big name fans, community maintainers/moderators, webmasters or archivists not currently included. Thanks!

New member and a question [19 Mar 2008|04:16pm]

[ mood | curious ]

Hey everybody, I'm new! I don't know why I haven't joined before! I've been a huge fan of the Legend of Zelda series since I first started playing video games (early 90s) and Ocarina of Time is my favorite Zelda game :)

I have a question. Is there a Zelda mood theme floating around somewhere? I go through mood themes quite a bit and I've found them in all my fandoms...except for Zelda! I wouldn't mind a mood theme of just Link or of all the characters in the series, I'm not picky!

PS-Who here is a bit scared of the postman?

Help? [14 Feb 2008|11:07pm]

May is coming up fast and thus comes another anime con as well. I believe I have settled on cosplaying as Kafei from Majora's Mask. Would anyone like to commision the outfit for me? Let me know! Thx!

[ mood | busy ]

Oh, you heard right.

See, I had expected the school board to call me a LOT sooner. At this rate, I might not even start till the week after Anime Weekend Atlanta, if I start at all, as a teacher's assistant.

So, till then, I'm sorta out of money.

I'm offering a super special awesome deal!

What is this deal, you ask?

That's right! Chibis and line arts! For ten dollars! You get your choice of either one, but each has their restrictions:

· Limit of three characters (depending on complexity).
· Can be done in black and white or color (black and white the price goes down to 8.00!).
· Will be completed in as little as a few hours!

· Limit of two characters (three depending on complexity).
· Available in black and white only, but rough shading can be done for no additional charge.
· Can be colored at a later date for half the price of a regular commission!
· Will be completed in as little as a day!

I am posting this now, but I will not be asking for money or beginning any of these commissions until this Friday. (That way, I can finish the other commissions I am still working on. Just one (and a half) more to go!)

I will be taking up to 30 of these commissions and I will not be doing this again.

For further examples of my work, please visit my deviantART page. If you are interested, please contact me via e-mail at gloriantes@gmail.com

So please, help me get to AWA. I'll draw till my wrist falls off for you :3

(and if this isn't allowed I'll delete it, promise~)

( Use a faerie? | used a faerie.)

[16 Jul 2007|03:40pm]

So, as an artist in desperate need of money, I've decided to do something I've never done before.

Take very special commissions.

These commissions will be limited to five people, will be done as quickly as possible (though they will be treated with first come first served priority), be in a digital format (and a 1000x1000 ratio unless otherwise specified) and will cost $20.00.

These commissions are no holds barred. As in, anything you want. Multiple characters, scenery, full color, everything and anything is possible. These will take a week at most to complete (depending on complexity), but could even be as little as a few hours.

All five slots have been filled! However, I still like money and love to draw, so if you want to commission me, go to my DeviantART and check my rates!

If you'd like to see examples of my art, please visit my deviantART.
If anyone interested would please email me at gloriantes@gmail.com with specifications, I'd greatly appreciate it.

So, why am I posting this in this community?

...Cause I'll do fanart, too? :D

If this isn't allowed I will delete this immediately.

Calling all Zelda cosplayers [20 Jun 2007|03:56pm]

On a peaceful day in the land of Hyrule, as the postman diligently made his rounds, Princess Zelda received a mysterious invitation. The sender is unnamed, and the handwriting is unfamiliar.

The letter spoke of a place the princess had heard of before. Clock Town. She wasn't sure she could believe Link when he told her about Clock Town and the land of Termina, but now any doubt she had was disproved.

Clutching her invitation to the Festival of Time, Zelda called upon Link to accompany her to this strange place. However, it seemed Link had also received an invitation.

Who sent these invitations? And furthermore... why?

My name is Jessica Roth, better known as Gloriantes, or Ordona. I am writing, directing, and co-producing an event at MomoCon, a convention held at Georgia Tech the spring of 2008. This event, The Legend of Zelda: The Festival of Time, will be a 72 minute long interactive play.

The script is still being written and ironed out, the stage is still in production, however, all of these things that need to be done pale in comparison to the most important part.

The cast.

So, I am placing an open casting call on... well, pretty much any outlet I can.

However, there are some requirements.

These requirements are:

  • You must have, if under the age of 18, parental/guardian permission in a notarized form.
I know that sounds a bit much, but, especially if you are travelling out of state to make it to the event, it makes things easier. Especially if, god forbid, an accident happened. It can be something as simple as permission from your parents to be in this event in the form of a typed letter, but it must be notarized. A simple "permission slip" of sorts may be written out later, should we have any people that make the cast under the age of 18.

  • You must be able to make it to ATLANTA, GEORGIA.
If you do not think that this is something you can do, then please do not apply. However, if you live in the Atlanta area and simply need a ride to the convention, something might be arranged.

  • You must be able to prerecord your lines and send them (in any format) to the audio editors for the event.
Surely, the first thing you thought when you read that was "Prerecord our lines? For an interactive event?" I know, it sounds a little odd. However, we are performing this event in a THX certified theater. And, to ensure that everyone that attends this event can hear every word of every conversation, we wish to prerecord the bulk of the event. There will be times when your character may be required to go through the audience, (in character, of course) however, anything performed on the actual stage will be prerecorded. Also, some parts already have voices cast for them, by very talented voice actors. Of course, this also requires a lot of lip synching practice, but hey. You will find out upon recieving a role whether or not you yourself will be required to voice your character. (Here's hoping we don't Milli Vanilli anything!)

  • There will be a meeting every week pertaining to this event via a messaging service (a service to be determined upon achieving a full cast) that you will be required to attend.
Now, I know most people have lives, so of course, you can miss up to four as long as there is a valid reason given, and two emergency absences. However, four consecutive absences (unless given a very good reason for) will cause you to lose your role.

Well, I think that covers the basics. Now, on to the character list!

Once you have decided on which roles (you can apply for more than one, but you will only be chosen for one) you would like to take on, simply fill out this application, and send it to threenightmoon@gmail.com

Once your application is sent in, you will be replied to for a secondary interview, and if myself and my co-producer feel you would fill one of the roles available for casting, your role will be struck from the roster, and you will be notified.

Any and all applicants will be taken into consideration, and treated equally. However, not all applicants will get an interview. The interview, although it will be held via an internet messenger (and given with a relaxed attitude), is to be taken seriously.

That's all for now, fellow cosplayers. Please comment to this post with any questions.

Good luck to any and all who apply!

Jessica Roth

I'm trying to learn Back Slice from the golden wolf guy, but for the life of me I cannot figure it out. I have it for Gamecube, btw.
I L-Target him and tap A twice, then attack. I think I'm supposed to roll but all Link does is jump, and then jump-attacks.
Please help!

The Best Day of My Entire Life... [12 Dec 2006|08:26pm]

[ mood | indescribable ]

Wow. Such joy and feelings I have never experienced.

My mom called at 4:03pm. Told me to call the game store. I did. My reserved game was there. Waiting for me. I yelled for two minutes while dancing around the house. I laughed. I yelled more.

Went to Target for Christmas presents. Went to Game Store.

I actually held myself pretty well. I chatted with "my best friend", who is a cashier that works there. My mom bought my reserved copy. I get it on Christmas.

Didn't play the Wii because Lala was hungry. Went to Subway down the street.

Lost it.

I cried all the way home. I was bawling. Tears everywhere.

Now, even as I type, tears fight their way out.

I finally own the Twilight Princess.

There are no words to express such joy. Such spiritual feelings.

I did chores just so I could hold the game before my mom packed it away until December 25th 2006. I cried agian.

I hope all others out there get their equivalent of TP for Christmas. I seriously do. Whatever it is, I hope you get it.

Happy Holidays.

Apology and excitement [10 Nov 2006|09:02am]

Spoilers are great, and all. Right? They're huge juicy parts of the story that lay hidden till you find them.
However, spoilers without warnings are disrespectful and cruel.

The previous entry (which I'm going to assume was a joke) has been deleted, and I encourage if this happens in the future, you do not reply to it and give the lamer attention he wants.

On a more lighthearted note, TWILIGHT PRINCESS COMES OUT NEXT WEEK!!

Will you be saving your Gamecube preorders or going all-out for a Wii for the grand experience?
What are you most looking forward to in the game?

Triforce MUCK is a real-time, text-based online roleplaying game based on the Legend of Zelda series. Both Hyrule and Termina have been faithfully reproduced and can be visited! Choose to play any of the Hyrulian races including mischievous Kokiri, cunning Gerudos, proud Hylians, venerable Gorons, and beautiful Zoras. Have a taste for the dark side? Battle as a lizalfos, wizrobe, miniblin, or other race and indulge in powerful weapons and magic. We are recasting the players for the main characters from the games, so you can try playing one of them, or just create your own character and go find adventures with Link, join Ganondorf's dark forces, attend a party at Zelda's castle, or milk a cow with Malon! Connecting is quick and easy and there are only a few quick commands to learn. Even though there are no levels or dice, the possibilities are only limited by your imagination. We are a growing group of creative and motivated players who love the games and want to have fun being a part of the Zelda series. Do you want to join us? Connect here: telnet://dovienya.net:6118. (If you're looking to stay, you should try downloading yourself a MU* client to use. I recommend SimpleMU.)

Once upon a time we were big and flourishing and full of RP, but over the years we've slowly dwindled away into a pretty small MUCK. We're looking to fill back up in the near future, and we need your help to do this! We accept roleplayers of any level, as long as they know how to have fun and follow the rules. Come on and check us out, it can't hurt. We're the only Zelda MU* out there, after all.

(We should have a new website up soon that I can refer you to eventually, but for now all we can do is show you the address to the MUCK.)

hello there kittens...

i've been playing 'the legend of zelda: a link to the past' on my gba quite obsessively recently. it's one of the best games ever, in my opinion, and i have such fond memories of playing it on the snes a long time ago...

anyway. i've just got to the bit where i enter into the dark world, and i'm completely stuck. i know what the problem is - through reading various walkthroughs i've realised that my link should be himself in the dark world by now - but he's still a bloody useless bunny rabbit!

what's that about? i have the master sword, and that ether thing, whatever it does... WHY AM I STILL A BUNNY?! i can't get any further! it's driving me insane! i thought getting the master sword meant you could be yourself...? or is it something else? i can't remember what the bouncy-ball person said to me up that big mountain, but i know it was something to do with it...

anyway. yeah. please help me. i'm so sad. :(
